The trust was founded in 1964 by families in and around Nanikadi who wanted their daughters taught close to home. It began with one school.
What it runs today
- Schools from nursery to standard 12
- Colleges of nursing, science and arts
- Two hostels for students who travel in from the villages of the taluka
What has not changed
A girl from a village eight kilometres away should not have to choose between an education and a bus she cannot rely on.
That is still the reason any of it exists. The hostels came from it. So did the fee assistance, and so did the decision to keep teaching in Gujarati alongside English.
